Welcome to Tangier! Meet your tour guide at the port, the airport, or your hotel. Begin your journey from Tangier to Chefchaouen via Tetouan. Get up early to drive to Tetouan via Rif mountain. Discover the main attractions in Tetouan’s small medina, the white dove of North Morocco.
Continue to Chefchaouen, stopping at d’Akchour (Akchour Waterfalls) for 2-3 hours of hiking. In the afternoon, begin exploring the picturesque scenery of the narrow streets. Take beautiful photos and enjoy the local traditional markets. Afterward, take in the spectacular city show flavored with sunset above the mountain.
Today you will be able to visit two imperial cities, Meknes and Fez. Get up early to photograph the streets with fewer people than usual, then depart for Fes. Visit the UNESCO-protected Roman Volubilis ruins along the way. The Roman Empire elevated Mauritania’s capital, founded in the third century BC, to the status of an important venue, complete with buildings and exquisite effects. The structure is incomplete, but it is still worth exploring.
Continue your journey to Meknes, your second imperial town. Visit the Bab El-Mansour Gate, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and the Royal Stables. Later on, the day leaves for Fes. Spend your night at the best local riad.
Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city, may be the most interesting to visit. Meet your guide for a half-day private tour of the entire city, beginning with the medina, Morocco’s oldest medina that dates back over 1000 years. The two parts of the city are Fes el Bali and Fes el-Jadid, which can be reached by rolling through the souks. Talaa Kebira («the Great Slope/Climb») is one of Fes el-longest Bali’s and most important streets.
Next, pay a visit to the stunning Al-Attarine Madrasa, which is located near the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque in Fes, Morocco. It was constructed by Marinid Sultan Uthman II Abu Said (1310-1331). As you make your way from the old to the new city, stop by el Mellah. Take in the breathtaking scenery.
Your day begins with a drive through the vast golden sands of the Merzouga Desert. The journey will take approximately eight hours, but the numerous photo opportunities and breathtaking scenery will make the drive pass easily.
Travel to Merzouga, a long-established crossroads between northern and southern Morocco. Visit the mountain towns of Azrou and Ifrane, renowned as «Morocco’s Switzerland,» to see wild Barbary apes in their natural habitat.
We’ll arrive in Merzouga in the evening and you’ll ride your camel through the desert. Your guide will provide you with all of the required clothing and equipment, as well as instructions on how to ride a camel. When you’re ready, find a good vantage point to watch the sunset. Then proceed to your overnight camp, where dinner will be served in the restaurant tent. Sit outside your individual tent before going to bed and enjoy the camp’s local musicians. After breakfast, we’ll travel to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios film studio.
We head to the Fint Oasis, which is near Ouarzazate. After that, take the Tizi-n-Tichka Highway, stopping for lunch along the way. We finally arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
